RRR's 3 Year Blogaversary

Winter Chill

HAPPY NEW YEAR, well at least in 4 hours & 40 min. here in NY. Just spending a quiet evening at home since I picked  up a bug yesterday and now have only part of my voice and the tissue box right next to me.  The celebrating will have to be done without me.  Kinda bummed about it.  

I have a sketch card and used my free stamp from Peachy Keen.  I forget the code because it was sent to me without being bagged & labeled.  I layered the cute snow man by stamping it 2X.  The faux lace is from Hot Off the Press and used a sentiment from BugBites Mistle Toe stamp set(using red Colorbox).  The cute ribbon is from the November Kit which I won in RRR monthly hop.  I used MS Starburst large border punch to make the black glitter(Colorbox)starburst.  All 12 brads(mini stars,hearts, buttons & snowflakes) are from Recollections.  I decided to add gems to the snow flakes.  Thanks for a fun, awesome year.

Lighting The Way

This will be my last post for today.  I know it seems like so many projects but they were done in the span of several days.  I am very slow when it comes to doing a card and I feel extremely lucky when I am able to do at least 2 cards in a day.  I don't know why it usually takes me so long, even when I think it will be a fast and simple project.  I am always amazed how so many of you can even do a video making a card. 
 I decided to use the card feature from Everyday Pop Ups cart.  I used a flower die cut set from Cuttlebug, MS flower border punch and the lamp post from ScrapChicks.  It was hand cut. I used a mini circle punch for the holly, embossed the snow with a Cuttlebug folder, out lined the leaves with a gold gel pen, added Studio G yellow glitter and brown ink to the light.  I used gold ribbon, 2 gold and brown glitter dots, red gems(Recollections), Crayola pencil, mini snowflake garland and Studio G gold glitter to do a musical note all from my stash.  The Candi is from RRR which I won on a MS Snowflake punch.  The sentiment & Mistletoe is from BugBites Mistletoe stamp set. I think the patterned paper is Recollection singles.  I really like how it turned out.  Thanks for joining me in all the fun.

Cross Ornament

I am here with another painted project which was done some time back but never posted it or used it.  I painted it silver and just added 8 gray pearls and one metallic looking pearl.  I also added some Studio G silver glitter.  It was quick and easy.  Be back soon.

Snow Star

Hey everyone, this is not a usual post but it was a craft I often did when my hands were more flexible.  I used white and light blue acrylic paint. Then I added white glitter glue to the star and  sheer shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko on the letters.  I finished it off with a few sparkly gems.  This can be an ornament or it is big enough hang on the door.  I just love doing my own ornaments or giving them away as gifts.  Thanks for joining me.

Pop The Cork

I am here with my 2nd out of two New Years cards.  I used a new cart.(Wild Card) I bought at a great low price from Holly who was recently selling all her Cricut carts.  I also used George Basic Shapes cart.  Thanks so much Holly, love the cart.  I embossed the card with Sizzix Time folder and the cork with a Cuttlebug folder.  I added a bunch of gems and 10 buttons to fit a challenge.  I used a black gel pen and wrote in the sentiment on the bottle.  Love how this card turned out.  Let's celebrate life, love and family this new year.  Thanks for coming by.

Happy New Year


I decided to do a couple of cards celebrating the new year.  Here is the 1st one I did using George basic Shapes(#'s), MS Seasonal(banner) and Stretch Your Imagination(card feature) carts.  From my stash I added a glitter dot(Recollections), epoxy sticker sentiment(Oriental Trading Co.), gems(Recollections), blue glitter(Studio G), white gel pen(PK) & gold gel pen(Signo).  I made a small alteration involving the banners.  They were originally party hats and I cut off the top pom poms, turning them into banner flags.  Thanks for joining me in the fun.

Christmas Joy

I am back with another Christmas card.  It was in a group of cards I had stored for a long while. It was don pre-Cricut.  This one was made with a lot of hand cutting.  The stars are from Hot Off The Press, white gem from Studio 112 and red & green from Kids Camp, tag is from Recollections, snowflake ribbon  from dollar section @ Michaels & and Fabric Bonanza from discount store, pink & green glitter cardstock from DCWV and the patterns are from Scrapbooks ETC.

Chillin Gift

Hi all my bloggie friends. I am here with a similar card of one I had done last Christmas but blinged it up.  I used Winter Lace,George Basic Shapes and MS Happy Birthday carts. From my stash I put together some red & white gems(Recollections), a button and  ribbon.  I embossed the present with Snowflakes and the paper ribbon with swirls(Cuttlebug)embossing folders.  I finished it with 7 mini snowflakes I punched with an old Marvy punch.  The pretty patterned paper is last years MS winter paper.
In a couple of days the new year will start and for us in NY the rough weather is just beginning.  The part of winter I could do without.  Thank you all for such a fun filled, inpired and most of all rewarding year.  It has been unforgettable. You all keep me inspired.

Christ is Born


I am back with a card expressing the true meaning of Christmas.  Both the image and sentiment are from Hero Arts Christmas stamp sets which I purchased at a steal on Thanksgiving @ Michaels.  The scalloped paper is from K & CO. Christmas paper pad I won last year, with shimmery ribbon I won at RRR(DEC. Set).  Love this stamp. Thanks for joining me.

Wintery Scene

Unto Us...

I am here with a special card with the true meaning of the holidays and reminding everyone we truly have so much to be thankful for.  I used one of my favorite ScrapChicks cuts I purchased at a great deal and decided to do a shaped card that could also be used as home decor under the tree.  I added a Peachy face(PK-573), used Studio G glitter for the star and an embossing folder from Sizzix.  It is still blank on the inside but I may add a lamb. Santa is Coming To Town

I am happy to be back with a card.  I am still pacing myself by taking it slow.  This card was done for past challenge of which I missed.  I used George Basic Shapes & Paper Doll Dress Up cart.  I added a sentiment from Bugbites.  I finished it with a Christmas border from MS, white gel pen from Peachy Keen and a pearl for Rudolph's nose.  I cut several layers to give the deer and Santa more dimension.  For those who have been coming by my blog while I was gone, many thanks for your devoted support.

Pretty in Pink / Christmas

Hi everyone! It is so GOOD to be back.  There has been so much crazyness going on.  Some good and some not so good.  I spent the weekend hospitalized and am happy to say all my analysis were negative, phew.  If you read my semi last post, I was without any space for my projects. Since I know so little about computers, it took me a month of attempts, kind help from a few fellow bloggers and a great deal of patience.  I finally figured it out, Halaluya.  Since I am still working on getting me back to par I will not be as active as usual on my blog.  

I will be doing some cards to show my support for all the sweet angels and hero's that were lost in the Newtown tragedy.  My heart breaks and I know there will be a deep hole in the small Conn. town for a long, long time.  May God fill them with love & courage to get thru this tragic event.  Our LOVE & PRAYERS will be with them. The card has cuts from Paper Doll Dress Up,  Doodle Charm, & MS Seasonal carts.  I embossed(one of my fave techniques) the background with snowflakes and a tree, adding some Studio G purple glitter.  I decided to go with non-traditional colors.  I embellished it with some mini garland snowflakes, buttons and a glitter dot for Rudolph's nose.  I hand cut the banners.  This was originally a sketch for another challenge which I didn't make.

Christmas Giveaway

Hi all my bloggie friends. Sorry I have been postless.  I ran into a snafu I've heard several others have run into it also.  My pics space is full and I am unable to post a card or project.  Until I fix it I will not be placing any projects.  I had some computer issues I finally got straightened out.  I also have had some health issues I wanted to put all my focus on.  If we don't have our health, everything goes down hill.  A late Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanted to give a quick heads up on Tara & Aprils blog, over @ Craftin Desert Diva's.  They are having a giveaway for the December. So go on by and join the fun.

OOPS! Almost forgot.  I will be spending the Christmas holiday with my girls and will have limited access to the internet and my tools, Cricut, etc.  You get the picture.  I will try to do the occasional project and blogging.
